Heya! 👋
I'm Kirsten Amor, a Sheffield-based writer, editor, and photographer obsessed with nature, history, and adventure sports. As a former archaeologist and lifetime climber, hiker, and runner, not to mention Summer Mountain Leader trainee, much of my work focuses on the intersection of these disciplines. My writing has appeared in BBC Travel, BBC Wildlife, Atlas Obscura, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Mpora, The Great Outdoors, and Geographical, among others.
In addition to freelancing, I’ve created content for a range of outdoor, travel, and cultural publications and brands, including Booking.com, ScotchWhisky.com, and National Geographic Kids magazine. I've also worked with outdoor brands such as Lowe Alpine, Buff, Cotswold Outdoor, and the London Mountain Film Festival.
For 10 years, I ran AmorExplore, a blog dedicated to promoting women in adventure sports, which was a finalist in Simply Hike’s Outdoor Blogger Awards in 2015. I've also guest blogged for heritage organisations like the Brunel Museum and DigVentures
