Heya! 👋
I'm Kirsten Amor, a Sheffield-based writer, editor, and photographer obsessed with travel and the outdoors. As a former archaeologist and lifetime climber, hiker, and runner, not to mention Summer Mountain Leader trainee, I venture to remote spaces and places in search of a good story. BBC Travel, BBC Wildlife, Atlas Obscura, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Mpora and Geographical magazine have all featured my work, as well as numerous online publications.
For 10 years, I managed a blog, AmorExplore, which focused on promoting women in adventure sports. It was voted as a finalist in Simply Hike's Outdoor Blogger awards in 2015. In addition to my own blogging, I've worked as a guest blogger for heritage institutions, including the Brunel Museum and DigVentures.
My work experience has been primarily at outdoor, travel and culture publications/brands, including Booking.com, ScotchWhisky.com, and National Geographic Kids magazine. I've also worked with brands Lowe Alpine, Buff, Cotswold Outdoor, and the London Mountain Film Festival to produce content for them.
